I'm trying to get our chemical storage situation sorted without completely blowing through my quarterly budget and the price difference between a reconditioned 1000 liter cage tank from the local trader and a brand new certified UN approved IBC tanks for industrial liquid storage UAE unit from a proper supplier like Crateco is honestly making my accountant push hard for the cheap option, but I've heard a few horror stories from guys in Ajman and Sharjah about civil defense coming through and flagging tanks that didn't have the correct stamp or the date code was too faded to read properly and then suddenly you're scrambling to empty and replace a full tote before they come back. My main worry is that we're storing a fairly mild cleaning concentrate nothing that's going to eat through the bottle or explode but the paperwork from the manufacturer does say "store in original UN approved container" so I'm pretty sure if I put it in some scuffed up reconditioned tank with a questionable history I'm just asking for a fine or worse a denial on an insurance claim if something ever actually leaked. Has anyone in the area actually been through a proper municipal inspection recently and can tell me how closely they really look at the IBC cage and the bottle itself or are they mostly just checking that you have a spill tray underneath and a sign on the wall, trying to figure out if I can save a few thousand dirhams or if I should just take the hit and sleep better at night with the new ones.
