Octopus Tree এই গাছটির বাংলায় কোনো আভিধানিক নাম আছে কিনা আমার জানে নেই। তবে ইংরেজি নাম গুলির বাংলা করলে অক্টোপাস গাছ, ছাতা গাছ, কুইন্সল্যান্ড ছাতা গাছ, ইত্যাদি নামে ডাকা যায়।
Octopus Tree নামকরণ করা হয়েছে এর ফুলের গুচ্ছগুলি অক্টোপাসের বাহুর সাথে সাদৃশ্যপূর্ণ বলে।
অক্টোপাস গাছের অনেকগুলি Common Name রয়েছে, যেমন -
Octopus Tree, Australia Umbrella Tree, Queensland Umbrella Tree, Umbrella Tree, Australian ivy palm, Brassaia, Schefflera, Amate ইত্যাদি।
